We like to call "work groups" the meat and potatoes of this ministry. A work group is a great way to help you dig deep and work through the steps of recovery. It will also help you identify some of the core events you are struggling with. We have had the joy of seeing what God can do when we get real with our hurts so HE can be real in our lives. So HE can heal.
A work group meets on a separate night than our Monday might large and share groups. It consists of 5-10 people that are also on a journey to find freedom from a hurt, habit, or hangup. Their reason for signing up may be TOTALLY different than yours, but you will be able to work together and find that you can relate to everyone's issues, no matter how different they are from yours.
Each person in a work group is committed to creating change in their life, through Christ-centered healing. It is where you men meet with men and women meet with women to start to learn and apply the steps of recovery. You will find that people walk alongside you in your healing journey, learn about accountability and how to set Godly and healthy boundaries. Your group will also celebrate with you in your victories!
It is important to remember that we are ALL in need of healing and finding freedom. Everyone has something they struggle with. We must choose whether we are going to deal with the things "our way" or God's way. God has a plan for you ! With help from God, you will work through a curriculum to get to the "root" of your hurts, habits, and hang ups and learn how to apply the 12 steps all while drawing closer to Him. Joining a work group is a commitment. Work groups meet weekly for 18-2o weeks at Restoration Church and attendance is key. Childcare is not provided at this time for work groups.
